PM Shehbaz Took Notice of Salary Hike for Top Parliament Officials

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the recent increase in the monthly salaries of the Senate Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Speaker, and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

According to sources, the Prime Minister has formally requested a detailed report from both the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Senate regarding the matter.

Once the report is submitted, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will review the details and make a decision based on the findings regarding the salary increment.

It is worth noting that just a day earlier, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb was questioned about the same issue. He was asked about the significant increase in the monthly salaries of these top parliamentary officeholders.

Media persons questioned the minister Aurangzeb on the rise of their salaries—from Rs. 205,000 to massive Rs. 2.15 million (21.5 lakh) per month. In response, Minister explained that these salaries had not been revised for the past nine years, that is why they were raised to this extent.
