META Announced to Build Superintelligence, Will be Much Stronger Than Human Brain

Meta announced plans to develop superintelligence, or Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), through a new AI lab led by Alexandr Wang of Scale AI. Backed by billions of dollars in funding, including a stake in Scale AI, and 600,000 Nvidia GPUs, Meta aims to create AI surpassing human cognitive abilities.

  • Meta is forming a new advanced AI research team, with around 50 top-level AI experts, sometimes referred to as the “Fantastic 50.”
  • To attract the best talent, Meta is offering huge salary packages ranging from millions to even billions of rupees (seven to nine figures in U.S. dollars).

Massive Deal with Scale AI

  • Meta plans to invest $15 billion in Scale AI, a leading data-labeling company.
  • This investment will give Meta a 49% ownership in Scale AI, which is now valued at $28 billion.
  • Alexandr Wang, Scale AI’s co-founder, will also be part of Meta’s superintelligence project.

Meta wants to catch up with major AI players like OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, who have launched highly advanced models. Meta’s previous model, LLaMA 4, didn’t perform as well as expected, which pushed them to accelerate efforts toward a more powerful AI system.

Zuckerberg is personally leading the recruitment and strategy. He has held private meetings in Menlo Park and Lake Tahoe to finalize team members. Meta has committed to spending between $64 to $72 billion this year on capital projects — most of it focused on AI development.

A superintelligent AI could revolutionize industries like healthcare, defense, and education. Meta’s push reflects the global race to lead in artificial intelligence. With the development of such powerful AI, questions arise about ethics, safety, and control. Experts continue to warn about the risks of AI going beyond human oversight.

Meta is taking a giant leap into the future with its plan to build a superintelligent AI system. With a massive investment in Scale AI, a team of elite researchers, and Zuckerberg’s personal involvement, the company is aiming to beat competitors and reshape the future of technology. However, with this bold step comes a big responsibility — to make sure the technology benefits humanity and doesn’t become a danger.
