How Many Animals Sacrificed on Eid-ul-Adha 2025 in Pakistan – Report Issued by Pakistan Tanners Association

The Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) has released official statistics regarding the number of animals sacrificed across the country during Eid-ul-Adha 2025. According to the report, a total of 7.418 million animals were sacrificed nationwide this year.
Sacrifice Numbers Increased Slightly
Compared to last year, the number of sacrifices increased by 1.62%. Here’s the detailed breakdown:
- Cows: 3,027,417 were sacrificed, showing a 6.4% increase
- Buffaloes: 287,946 were sacrificed, a 1.6% rise
- Goats: 3,581,767 were sacrificed, which is a 0.8% decrease
- Sheep: 454,231 were sacrificed, marking an 8% drop
- Camels: 67,245 were sacrificed, which is 1.62% less than the previous year
Value of Animal Hides Estimated at Rs. 6.5 Billion
The Pakistan Tanners Association also shared the estimated market value of the hides collected during Eid:
- Cow hide: Average price is Rs. 1,775
- Buffalo hide: Average price is Rs. 1,680
- Goat hide: Average price is Rs. 446
- Camel hide: Average price is Rs. 578
- Sheep hide: Average price is Rs. 47
Altogether, the total estimated worth of the hides from sacrificed animals is Rs. 6.5 billion.
