ISALAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a one-to-one meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Foreign Office, Islamabad on Saturday.
During the talks, Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthen partnership with China, based on strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said China Pakistan Economic Corridor is imperative for socio-economic development of Pakistan. Chinese Foreign Minister assured his country’s support to stability of Pakistan’s economy.
The Chinese foreign minister is on a three-day Pakistan visit and is likely to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and president-elect Arif Alvi during his stay in Islamabad to have discussions on bilateral issues with focus on CPEC projects.
He is also scheduled to meet Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and various leaders of the opposition parties.
